Thunderstorms!
Where is the fall weather?! I am so tired of the rain and now it's starting to thunder outside. I don't enjoy traveling when it is raining. People are sometimes overly cautious and it causes traffic and accidents. The day seems to be dragging on. I have so many things that are due today. This has been a really hectic week! At 2:45, all the stress that I have been experiencing will be gone. Tomorrow, I am observing at the Middle School and I can not wait to see my 7th and 8th graders. I never realized how attached you can become with a group of students, especially when you are not their teacher. They are so much fun to be around and I learn something new each and every day from them =)

Kristalyn, I am happy to read that you feel you are learning a great deal from the students that you are observing. What lessons have you observed? Are the students attentive during these lessons? Do you see technology being infused into these lessons? Are you learning a great deal as you watch the teacher ? What exactly are you learning? Do you like this age level? Is this the age group that you had intended to teach when you came into this program? Would you do anything differently? What do you feel are the teacher's strong points?
ReplyDeleteI look forward to hearing more about these students. Yes, I can easily understand that you can become very close to them......even though they are not your students. Dr. Ries
I have been observing different Social Studies classes. They are covering World Geography and the Constitution. I am surprised at how much they already know. For the most part, students are very attentive. They seem to want to learn every time I am there observing. There have been some instances of technology used in the different classrooms. I have seen the Smart Board, multiple videos, Power Points. I am learning that students like the use of visual aids as a guide to learning. I actually am starting to really like this age group. Although I want to teach high school, being placed in the middle school has made me reexamine my future. As for right now, I think I would not do anything differently. I like how the teachers present the material and how the kids respond. I feel the teacher's strong points are being able to use the technology effectively as well as giving examples of what they are learning to their every day lives.
